If you drag the slider all the way down to the bottom, you’ll have disabled it entirely. In my case the slider was at the level above disabling, which is, “Notify me only when programs try to make changes to my computer”.Īccording to what I read in the above mentioned links I gathered that it is safe to leave my settings at this level and not to disable this UAC messages completely. So I decided to take a chance and leave it like that and go ahead and install XAMPP.
I don’t know whether it is the right move but I left the User Account Control Settings at minimum without disabling it and installed XAMPP. So far I there hasn’t been any problem for me and I’m able to do my PHP programming without any trouble. I can not start Apache because of the problem mentioned below.
